Behind Constellation’s Rum:
What would you expect when two brilliant minds come together to think about one exciting purpose? What would you expect when tradition and modernity come together in one challenging purpose? What would you expect when craftsmanship and mastery join innovation and technique under one only purpose? This is Smart Crafting; this is Minds Blending.
Two connected minds working as only one on a pure blend, looking for the perfect balance. One each complementary to the other, just like a blended rum, where complementary rums are blended showing awesome characteristics that separately would not be so extraordinary. This is the lovely purpose of the Art of Blending.
Through this noble spirituous, we want to pay tribute to the beautiful and world-renowned sky of the Canary Islands. We have captured the essence of the most representative constellations of the Four Seasons crafting a rum inspired by each of them.
All these rums are the fruit of a complex production of sugar cane distillates crafted under different parameters of fermentation and distillation that after a long and complex process of maturation and blending will show a unique and fascinating character.
New singular Rums will see the light soon but these single and small batch rums are only the tip of the iceberg of everything we can create. A new era for Rum is coming; the Rum r-Evolution is here to stay.
Who we are?
Jose M. Quevedo, co-owner of Destilerias Aldea and Craft Rum Master. Jose M. is part of the fourth generation of the Quevedo Family Rum Masters. Jose M. was graduated in Business Administration and since 2001 is managing the family business with success, being Ron Aldea one of the most significant brands in the European market and reference of unquestionable quality in its natural market, its home, the Canary Islands.
Santiago Bronchales, Craft Spirits Master. Santiago coursed oenologist studies and has been certificated by the Institute of Brewing and Distilling in Fermentation and Distillation. In 2003 he began his journey in the spirits field acquiring a strong mastery of rum and whisky over the years. Santiago works as Independent Consultant of Spirits, having to his credit the professional advising of several brands of success.
Tasting Notes
It is a complex blend of various distillates. Medium-bodied, with seductive flavours of candied fruit, vanilla and cocoa beans, and citrus blossom over the background of bonfire and salty notes. Matured in a sherry-type solera for 10 years.
