Planteray Isle of Fiji is an ode to the beauty of the Fiji Islands. This delicious rum is made using all local Fijian sugarcane that is turned to molasses in the local mill in Lautoka town. Isle of Fiji is a perfect reflection of it’s Pacific terroir. From pristine lagoons to lush jungles. Rums from Fiji are traditionally a blend of lean floral and light column stills and heavily flavourful, aromatic rums from the pot stills.
This is a great sipping rum with rich, well balanced notes of tropical fruits, soft spices and subtle chocolate with a roundness of smoke.
Tasting notes
Nose: Intense, it starts on molasses and pear. It then becomes fruitier with apple, banana, gooseberry, and spicier with nutmeg and vanilla, with a hint of smoke at the end.
Palate: Rich and round, it follows the nose with vanilla fudge, honey, ginger, and fruity notes of prune and coconut.
Plutôt doux et équilibré, un nez très fruité suivi d’un palais tirant vers le torréfié d’une noix de coco doucement parfumé de vanille, gardant un léger parfum gourmand en fin de bouche.

Too Spicy…
Un peu jeune
Première bouche un peu compliqué mais il dévoile tout ses arômes quelques secondes après ce qui le rend fort intéressant. Un pure rhume de dégustation.

Fresh and sweet smell, fine taste, I like Plantaion rums. Good for drink like a pralines.

Nice flavours light on the spice, delegate coconut shined through can see this being a really good cocktail rum can’t see myself sipping this neat.

Určitě není špatný, ale nějak nechápu proč je zařazen do kalendáře znovu když už v něm jednou byl. Řekl bych, že značka má i spoustu jiných rumů, které by stály za zařazení do kalendáře. Pro nás, co kupujeme kalendář každý rok, je určitě lepší vyzkoušet vzorky nových rumů, než degustovat opakovaně ty stejné .
